Nicolas BELLÉGO: Head of corporate incubation programs, Paris and Co
INTRODUCTION
Numerous schemes have been devised in response to open innovation initiatives: fablabs, hackathons, incubators, gas pedals, start-up studios, corporate investment funds, etc. The corporate incubator is one of these tools, and can adopt different models depending on the group's objectives and the type of start-up it is looking for. First and foremost designed to facilitate collaboration between the major corporation and its start-up partners, it is part of the new ways of innovating within the major group, and requires a real strategic commitment from management to become an effective open innovation tool. Still a relatively recent device, it must above all be designed to bring value to both the major corporation and its start-up partners.
Aimed primarily at large groups and mid-sized companies, this fact sheet is designed to help you :
gain a better understanding of the new approaches that major corporations are adopting to innovate with start-ups, and the associated challenges;
gain a better understanding of what a corporate incubator is, in its various forms;
obtain initial methodological input on the implementation of a corporate incubation program and its possible future development.
