6.1 Monitor your competitors' patent granting processes

The time limit for filing opposition after publication of the European patent grant is very short. As a result, you need to be particularly vigilant in monitoring the granting process of your competitors' patent titles. To this end, the EPO provides a monitoring tool, which enables you to configure the sending of computer alerts as soon as a new event concerning a patent is entered in the European Patent Register ( Veille du Registre ).
