Eco-design

Integration of environmental aspects into product design and development, with the aim of reducing negative environmental impacts throughout a product's life cycle (ISO 14006: 2020).

Eco-innovation

Innovation directly or indirectly involving a reduction in the environmental impact of a product, process or service compared with the existing situation or other alternatives.

Key Environmental Performance Indicators

Eco-innovation is defined as an innovation that focuses primarily on the environmental dimension, but integrates economic and social aspects, and that significantly improves the overall sustainable performance of a product throughout its life cycle and at a high systemic level.
