2. Safer by design: for whom?
We've seen that, with advances in instrumentation, the creation of registers and directories and regulation are essential elements of safer by design for nanotechnologies. But what are the axes to be observed? When we talk about safer by design, who or what does it concern? A closer look at the regulations will help us to understand this question. In 2019, nanotechnology-related regulations focused on three main areas: conditions for workers exposed to nanotechnology, consumer protection, and impacts on the environment and citizens.
