1. Understanding the concept of "prompt" and "prompt engineering

The verb prompt can be translated as "to incite", "to encourage", "to make something happen". As a noun, prompt corresponds in computer language to a "command prompt", or simply a command. In the context of generative artificial intelligence, the term can be translated as "instruction" or "query", but this type of query is different from the keyword input we make via conventional web engines.

A prompt often expresses a question in natural language, or a simple instruction. In the context of a precise information search or technology watch, prompts take on a more complex and precise form, often generating several successive steps.
