This report of experience concerns the implementation of Societies for the Acceleration of Technology Transfer (SATT), their history, their initial successes and the obstacles they have had to overcome. It is based on the hands-on experience of one of the 14 SATT CEOs and founders. It addresses challenges, issues and the evolution of the SATT program.

INTRODUCTION
This billion-euro SATT scheme was born of the French government's realization that public research, while of a high standard, had not produced all the desired economic results in terms of innovation or competitive advantage for businesses. It had to face up to the forces at play, given the complexity of the ecosystem and certain reluctance to change, as well as cultural effects. Nonetheless, this link in the innovation chain has taken root in the fabric of French innovation, and we are beginning to feel the results, even if they are preliminary.
