7. Mistakes to avoid

7.1 Don't confuse operating monopoly with operating freedom

The granting of a title by the INPI is not a guarantee of freedom to exploit the invention. Consequently, before any exploitation of the invention, it is advisable to ensure that it is not subject to specific authorization (as is the case for medicines) and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties. To this end, a search for prior art is recommended.
