ABSTRACT

Dangerous phenomena related to a machine, components or surfaces of machines, tools, parts, loads, projections of solid material or fluids leading among others to risks of crushing, cutting, entrapment or shock are an integral part of the professional risks that require prevention. This article is dedicated to the protection means to be implemented against mechanical risks. The various methods in order to avert or limit risks are presented through precise and selected examples of such instruments. This presentation thus facilitates the choice of accurate protection means for the reduction of mechanical risks generated by machines.
