Actimétrie; actimetry

A set of metrological techniques, based on electronics, information technology and telematics, used to quantify movements during an individual's activity in his or her living environment.

Sequential encoding; run-length encoding

The run-length encoding of a character sequence consists in preceding a repeating pattern with its number of repetitions. For example, if the sequence s is 6NBNBEEAADGAIADGI, its Run-Length Encoding (RLE) is equal to RLE(s) = 62NB2E2A1D1G1A1I1A1D1G1I, i.e. the sequence s with its pattern repetition coefficients.
