1. States of matter: place of amorphous states, crystal/amorphous alternative

At atmospheric pressure, ordinary matter can, depending on temperature, exist in three forms (gas, liquid, solid). These states differ in their structural (relative positions of molecules) and dynamic (molecular mobility) properties. A generic representation of these states is given in figure 1 .
