2. Regulations governing depigmenting agents

Depigmenting products come in both cosmetic and dermatological forms. From a regulatory point of view, dermatological products are only authorized for sale if they have a Marketing Authorization (MA), unlike cosmetics, which do not. As a result, manufacturers assume responsibility for the safety of their products through the following provisions :

  • a declaration is required to open a manufacturing, packaging or import establishment;

  • provide the authorities with a human health safety assessment file;...
