7. Conclusion

This article aimed to highlight not only the wide range of aspects related to fragrance encapsulation, but also the stability, industrial feasibility, and regulatory constraints that must be taken into account. The stability of the capsules during storage in the final product and the factors controlling this stability are crucial. A critical review shows that the solutions are, ultimately, limited. We know how to encapsulate fragrances for dry applications such as scratch-and-sniff or when water is used as a stimulus for fragrance release. We also know how to do this in the case of low-extractive aqueous bases, such as conditioners or aqueous systems low in surfactants. In all these cases, the benefits obtained meet the expectations of customers and consumers.
