Consumption per use
The fuel consumption of a vehicle is the consumption recorded when the vehicle is in use. This consumption is most often expressed in l/100 km for a petrol or diesel vehicle, in kg/100 km for a gas vehicle and in kWh/100 km for a BEV. In the latter case, the notion of range can be used, i.e. the distance that can be covered before recharging the battery.
This in-use consumption is almost always higher than the vehicle's approved consumption measured under standardized conditions (see § 2.1
