Overview
ABSTRACT
Tram-trains are tramways capable of running indifferently on the tramway rails of an urban network and on the rails of a railway network for the general public. Several definitions are offered (various overseas and French achievements are thus presented) and the principal advantages of this notion of tramway. this concept, which has started to develop in France as well as its power supply are then analyzed in detail. To conclude this article, several parts of the rolling stock such as the "Saarbahn" Bombardier built tram or the Siemens-built "Avanto" are presented.
