5.1 Industrial experience
Cold" compressor casings are made from TA6V titanium alloy, Z5CNU17 or Z12CNDV12 steel (see table 4 ); "hot" casings from Waspaloy or Inconel 718 nickel superalloys. Among these parts, the most critical are the structural casings (intermediate and exhaust casings), which ensure engine rigidity and thrust transfer to the aircraft. The basic design generally consists of two shells, one external and the other internal (hub), connected by structural or non-structural arms.
