Freight transportation is an important part of the technology, for transportation equipment, transportation as such, or the organization of transport consumption in logistics organizations. It is an industrial process whose value contributes to the total value of the product. Transportation is a complex system involving a large number of agents: infrastructure managers, carriers, shippers, freight-forwarders, etc. Organized in networks, transportation is also a social activity, with powerful external effects. Public authorities play an important role in the organization and regulation of transportation.
