3. Defining risk-based periodicities: the OPPERET method
Good management of a company's measuring equipment must be based first and foremost on day-to-day control of measurement-related risks. No method of calculating periodicity can anticipate accidents. It is therefore necessary to prioritize measurement-related issues in order to draw up a relevant measurement resources management plan. The OPPERET method (see Bibliography "Optimizing calibration periodicity: the OPPERET method" by CFM and fascicule FD X07-014) is an excellent tool for this. In addition to calculating periodicities, this method can be used to prioritize the efforts required to guarantee risks.
