5. Fleet management using conditional periodicity
Managing a company's fleet of measuring instruments may be no different from managing the same company's fleet of automobiles. In both cases, we find the notion of surveillance we mentioned earlier, which is similar to the surveillance of automobiles imposed for safety reasons. But in this fact sheet, we're concerned with industrial metrology, not legal metrology!
The aim of measuring instrument management is to guarantee the day-to-day quality of measurements at the lowest possible cost, and to forget the practice of "labeling" so dear to label-hunting auditors, in order to ensure the certification of an industrial company.
