4.1 Staff

The personnel concerned are those who "could have an influence on the laboratory's activities", from the identification of the customer's needs to the approval of the report, via the performance of services, not forgetting ancillary functions such as the laboratory's metrology function or internal auditors, for example. Contract or timeshare staff, for example, are also involved.

The standard specifies the minimum activities that must be licensed:

• method development, modification, verification and validation;

• analysis of results, including declaration of conformity or issuing opinions and interpretations;
