4. Healthcare waste management in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic
The knowledge accumulated over the months on both the Covid-19 disease (periods of contagiousness and symptomatology) and on the modes of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has enabled us to formulate recommendations for all producers of healthcare waste and according to the type of waste.
4.1 People at home suffering from Covid-19 or contact cases
People suffering from Covid-19 or contact cases who live at home are responsible for disposing of waste soiled with respiratory secretions and likely to be contaminated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (tissues, surgical masks, single-use textiles, cleaning strips, etc.).
