1. Position the evolution of the standard and of your quality management system
To characterize a quality management system, we first need to identify the dimensions or fields of force involved. Four dimensions can be identified in a QMS, each of which can be invested to a greater or lesser extent by each organization using the standard, according to its own culture and managerial orientations.
The "strategic" field highlights the strategic characteristics of quality: customers, products, customer/product combinations, innovation. A marker of this dimension is the inclination to consider the quality management system above all as an organizational tool for deploying the organization's strategy.
