2. Prepare to submit your project to the accreditation body

The submission of your project to the accreditation body should be made when the laboratory has already implemented its quality system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories". However, this does not prevent the laboratory from first contacting the accreditation body to discuss accreditation.

To determine whether an application for accreditation is admissible, the accreditation body will examine :

• the general organization of the laboratory to ensure that it is compatible with accreditation (identify any conflicts of interest, for example);

• outline of the quality management system to ensure that it meets the requirements of ISO/CEI 17025 and is operational;
