6. Qualitative analysis. Identification

The very principles used to explain chromatographic separations show that retention values can be used to identify the peaks making up the chromatogram. We will develop such a procedure, and then discuss other commonly used methods: selective detection, coupling with other analytical systems, reaction chromatography.
