6. Conclusion

The development of industrial process control, together with concern for the environment and personal safety, has led to the need for reliable methods of detecting toxic and polluting gases. Photoacoustic spectrometry is one such method, characterized by particularly high sensitivity, high measurement dynamics, good selectivity, short response times and low maintenance costs. The main applications are air analysis in workshops, chemical warehouses, laboratories and hospitals, both indoors and outdoors, leakage control, ventilation studies... A number of industrial applications are making steady progress on the international market. They enable simultaneous qualitative and quantitative analysis of infrared-absorbing gaseous pollutants.
