Overview

ABSTRACT

The passage of charged particles in matter induces transformations, constraints and even changes in composition. The elastic collisions and nuclear reactions thus generated by energetic positive ions by collision energy can be exploited for analysis purposes. Their spectrometry is a wonderful experimental tool for solving a large number of analytical problems. This article presents certain applications which notably allow for the characterization of materials.

 INTRODUCTION

After describing elastic collisions and nuclear reactions in terms of their physical mechanisms and mathematical formalism [P 2 560], in this second part we will describe some applications to materials characterization. These applications can be found in disciplines as diverse as Materials Sciences, Universe Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences or Humanities.
