1. Principle of two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC)

The principle behind 2D-LC is that fractions from a first dimension (denoted 1 D) are transferred to a second dimension (denoted 2 D) for a second separation. Ideally, the two separations are complementary, bringing different selectivities to the compounds to be separated.

1.1 2D-LC modes
