6.1 Maintenance concepts

The basic concepts and metrics used in operational safety are essential for optimizing maintenance strategies. With this in mind, the main definitions of the NF EN 13306 are recalled.

  • Maintenance

    All technical, administrative and management actions during the life cycle of an asset, designed to maintain or restore it to a state in which it can perform the required function.
