6. Conclusion

The examples presented in this article show that the choice of hygrometer is important, depending on the temperature and relative humidity range, in order to meet the requirements on maximum permissible error (MPE) for the climatic environments called for in certain standards or industry recommendations.

Calibration of the hygrometer by a laboratory accredited by the national chain is often necessary, to ensure that certain requirements are met. In any case, control of measurement uncertainties is essential.

For example, some ISO standards specify a temperature EMT of +/–1°C and a relative humidity EMT of +/–2% RH, at 25°C, 65% RH.
