2. Tolerancing issues

As a general rule, at least three working groups are involved in the development of a product:

  • A design office (BE) which, based on functional specifications, draws up an overall plan, various instructions and ends its involvement by creating definition drawings which will constitute contractual documents for subsequent partners (NF E 04-501).

  • A manufacturing department (BM methods office and production) that will produce the parts and, if necessary, assemble the mechanism.

  • An inspection department to ensure that manufactured parts comply with the design office's definition drawings.

Other partners are involved and need the definition drawing as a reference document: purchasing department, quality department, assembly ...
