 INTRODUCTION

This article deals mainly with the measurement of sinusoidal AC voltages at frequencies between 10 Hz and 100 kHz. The first part (paragraphs 1 and 2 ) is devoted to a description of the various operating principles of measuring instruments, and their accuracy, with the aim of guiding the reader in choosing the most suitable instrument for his or her needs. The second part (paragraph 3 ) covers the different measurement methods used in metrology laboratories. The third part (paragraph 4 ) describes the precautions to be taken during measurement and the various components to be considered when calculating uncertainty. A final section (paragraph 5
