1.1 Definitions

We'll start with a few general notions on the theory of oscillations and the study of the disturbing elements that can affect them.

  • A timepiece allows you to tell the time at any given moment by means of a hand moving in front of a dial. It's difficult to give the hand a rigorously uniform movement, so the motor driving the hand is usually regulated by an oscillator. The latter enables the hand to rotate in jerks, at each oscillation, by a determined angle proportional to the duration T 0 foreseen for the oscillation. The time indicated after n oscillations is :
