4. Conclusion and outlook

The two models described in this article, together with the implementation tips, enable a user to design enclosures. These models have generally proved their worth in terms of configuration and frequency range, in line with their initial assumptions. However, the sheer number of elements to be mastered makes it necessary to be circumspect and critical of the predictions obtained. Other models, which are not described here, have been proposed and shown to perform well in certain configurations and for certain ranges of their parameters. However, not all of these models alone can predict the behavior of an encapsulation over the whole range of useful frequencies and for all configurations encountered in practice. The idea is therefore to use them together. For example, the condition expressed by the relationship
