1. Context

Urban mobility has been undergoing radical change for several years now, gradually changing the way we perceive and behave as users of public roads. The rapidly developing electric vehicle plays an important role in this transformation. In addition to their obvious benefits in terms of reducing air pollution, electric vehicles are also helping to reduce noise levels in cities. It's this apparent "silence" that is one of the attractions of this type of vehicle, but which is now creating fears for pedestrians. Road and sidewalk users seem to anticipate the approach, presence or start-up of motor vehicles by the sounds they make. Electric and hybrid vehicles can be very quiet at low speeds, making them difficult for pedestrians to detect. This loss of audible information, an integral part of pedestrians' navigation in their environment, could be the cause of an increase in the dangerousness...
