16. Zinc

16.1 Field of application

This applies to zinc and articles made exclusively of zinc, which in their finished state are intended to come into direct contact with foodstuffs, products and beverages for human and animal consumption and for repeated use.

This does not apply to zinc-coated items covered by the "Steel and stainless steel with metal coating (excluding packaging)" sheet.

The main application examples are as follows:

  • household items: measuring instruments, etc. ;

  • food industry equipment: measuring instruments, chocolate and confectionery, etc.
