• The key figures for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector in France are :

  • some 87,000 fruit and vegetable farms;

  • more than 300 cooperatives ;

  • approximately 350 shippers;

  • about 100 importers ;

  • approximately 1,200 wholesalers;

  • 10 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables produced (excluding potatoes) ;

  • 13.36 billion euros in sales, including VAT, at consumption stage (excluding potatoes).
