5. Animal production

  • Laboratory and farm animals

    In France, fundamental studies and therapeutic models are conducted in confined research laboratories on transgenic animals.

    As of October 10, 2008, no farmed animal had been authorized for marketing, but studies are underway with a view to producing molecules or improving their performance.

  • Animal feed

    Community provisions and French legislation currently cover feed additives and nitrogen products.

    None of these products was authorized for marketing as of October 10, 2008.
