1. Definition and fields of application

Bacter-Test and Lister-Test, or contact tests, are original culture media which can be used to demonstrate the presence or absence of pathogenic germs in the food industry (staphylococcus aureus, salmonella, faecal coli, total coli, mesophilic aerobic flora, Listeria monocytogene) within 6 to 10 hours (depending on concentration) at a temperature of 37°C. These culture media have received Cofrac (French Accreditation Committee) accreditation, and correspond to the controls for monitoring cleaning efficiency (art. 12 - chapter II - title I - decree of 29/09/97 - JO of 23/10/97).

The fields of application for these tests are shown in table 1 .
