4. Conclusion

In this article, we have presented the concept of digitizing space, on the long road from the Marshallese business district to the Smart City. In our view, this conceptual perspective is still essential to defining the problem and understanding the importance of the global challenge.

We believe that a parallel reality exists alongside the tangible reality of places and the people who live in them. This reality exists through digital technology, enabling us to apprehend places by modeling them.

The phenomenon observed is a direct result of the digital revolution, which has its roots in the period between the third and fourth industrial revolutions.
