1. Differences between regulatory calculation and dynamic energy simulation

SED differs from "regulatory" simulation in several respects.

The major difference between the two types of calculation is that the SED represents a totally open, parameterizable environment, whereas the regulatory calculation will impose all the assumptions to be taken into account when carrying out the simulation. These are known as conventional scenarios.

For example, scenarios for occupancy, lighting, heating temperatures (daytime, night-time), etc., are all precisely defined in environmental regulations (ER), and these assumptions cannot be changed in regulatory calculation software, where typical ER scenarios have all been integrated.

With SED, on the other hand, all these parameters can be adjusted to provide the best possible estimate of the real consumption and needs...
