3.1 Cartography

Cartography is used to indicate local information (what is there or what is happening at a given location?) or to visually represent and apprehend a global situation and the global or local spatial relationships between object values.

Localized health data are presented in the form of events or the results of an aggregation of events in geographic objects (in the form of numbers, mean values or ratios). The location of events is usually represented by a point.

We can therefore represent one-off events simply by their location or by the value of one of their attributes. Several events may be located in the same place, which is not easy to represent. They may also move over time. To overcome these disadvantages, events...
