2. What are the principles of aggregation?

Aggregation reduces the number of hazardous phenomena by grouping them under a single phenomenon. This phenomenon must be characterized :

  • in probability, by the sum of the probabilities of the grouped phenomena ;

  • in the zone of effect, by combining the contours associated with the grouped phenomena;

  • in terms of severity, by that corresponding to the most serious of the grouped hazardous phenomena.
