2. Situation in France

The air pollution problems facing our regions and Europe have changed since the 1970s and 1980s due to significant changes in pollutant emissions. Emissions from stationary combustion plants have fallen sharply as a result of increasingly stringent regulations on fuel quality and plant emissions, and the very high share of nuclear power in electricity generation in France.
