4. Compare your results with exposure thresholds

Worker exposure levels must be compared with regulatory exposure threshold values (action values and limit values), which determine the preventive measures to be implemented (or protective measures if preventive measures are impossible, insufficient or do not respond to the urgency of the situation).

Important

Exposure limit values (ELVs) are the maximum permissible exposure levels. They must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
