4. Conclusion
The techniques presented enable the final volume of sludge to be reduced, either by removing water or by partially destroying the dry matter using biological or physicochemical processes, as summarized in the table 15 . They also help to limit odor and microbiological nuisances, in particular through stabilization processes that can also improve the structure of the sludge.
