2. Steps to be taken by those concerned

Any natural or legal person, public or private, planning to operate an activity or hold a facility that could present dangers or inconveniences for the environment or for the health or safety of neighbors, must first check whether their project is covered by the nomenclature of classified facilities.

If this is not the case, i.e. if the planned activities and/or installations are not listed in the nomenclature, or if they are listed but do not meet the thresholds, the operator is not concerned by classified installations. In this case, operating conditions are the responsibility of the mayor of the municipality in which the facility is located, and must comply with the departmental health regulations applicable to all citizens.
