3. Create your inventory

3.1 Deposit study

To find out about the nature of your waste, it can be useful to consult waste disposal invoices (which can give an initial indication of the nature of the waste), but field visits are essential. You need to meet the people who "produce" the waste.

It's a good idea to ask activity-related questions, such as how the person works and whether he or she uses supplies or raw materials. You can then ask to see how any waste produced is stored and disposed of.

To determine a waste's degree of hazardousness, consult the available safety data sheets or technical data sheets.
