1. Identify the cases in which your environmental responsibility may be called into question

Your environmental responsibility can be implemented when two criteria are met:

  • Your activity affects certain natural resources, designated by the legislator (for example, a river).

  • This damage is sufficiently serious (for example, it affects human health).

1.1 Environmental damage covered by environmental liability

Environmental liability covers damage to :

  • species and natural habitats protected by community legislation ;

  • waters ;

  • floors ;

  • ecological services.
