2. Hydrothermal Oxidation (HTO) Processes

Hydrothermal oxidation processes can be applied to a wide variety of concentrated wastes. Indeed, concentrated organic wastes or dilute aqueous solutions—often present at the same site—can be mixed to produce a feed with a concentration between 1 and 20%.

By using appropriate high-pressure pumping systems, many effluents can thus be treated by hydrothermal oxidation with very high destruction rates, exceeding 99.9%.
