3. Distinguish between different approaches

3.1 Case 1: ICPE regulations, an integrated or "global approach

If your plant is classified under the ICPE regulations (declaration, declaration with periodic inspection, registration, authorization with easement), you must refer to the ICPE regulations and the administrative acts issued to you to find out the technical and regulatory requirements to be met.

The advantage of ICPE regulations is that they cover virtually all environmental obligations. This means you don't have to search for all the obligations in all the texts, depending on the topic in question.

ICPE regulations integrate environmental regulations (water, air, soil, waste, chemicals, etc.), hence the notion of an integrated approach.
