4. What are the consultation procedures?

In the field of ICPE, consultation with the public takes the form of three procedures: the public inquiry, the public consultation and the public consultation.

4.1 Public inquiry

The purpose of the public inquiry is to :

  • inform the public about the project's impact;

  • collect the public's observations and opinions on the project, under the authority of a person called the investigating commissioner, with whom the public can interact (see How the public inquiry works and the role of the investigating commissioner
